Fishing today!! yeah dude!!

Dear Margot,
Today I had a most exciting day. It may have been dark gloomy and anything that would mess up someone's day but not for me. Why? Simply because I was going fishing at an untouched area with the people from SFAS which is the Sport Fishing Association Singapore.

I woke up in total darkness at about 620 in the morning. I couldn fall asleep because I was too excited. I climbed shakily out of bed because I did not get much rest the night before as I was packing my bag. Well, I got up, poured coffee for Mum and Dad so as to get them out of bed, gathered all my items then we headed out to West Coast ferry terminal. The car ride was uneventful. I felt the excitement building inside me and all i could think of was casting and hooking a monster fish.

I arrived at the ferry terminal and was warmly greeted by Jimmy Aw who invited me. He himself had brought 2 rods, an 8wt and a 6wt. He is an extremely nice person. He actually said," Hi auntie, hi uncle."Then shut the car door for me when I was dropped off. Well, we boarded the ferries to take us to the island after submtting the indemnity form.

The fishing was extremely productive. I had many takes but did not manage to muscle any of the fish or the shark to the side to be photographed and released. I will blog about it tomorrow. the summarised report would be as follows. I hooked 1 herring, 1 black tip reef shark about 4 feet long, 2 huge gts about 5kg at least, a todak and spooked a big tarpon. Tomorrow I will blog about the fish in greater detail because my arm and fingers are too tired to type more.
